This gorgeous boho-inspired elopement at Fourmounds Inn overlooking the Mississippi River in Dubuque Iowa was a picture-perfect dream! From the massive and colorful wedding bouquet to the 70’s lace-styled wedding dress, and outdoor ceremony and reception, this wedding wasn’t what they had originally planned for but turned out to be exactly what they had wanted! They decided to downsize their wedding a few months before due to the pandemic, they went from planning on 200+ people being witnesses of their day to 30. (including my husband and I) They wanted their wedding day to be low stress and easy-going since they had offered to let us stay with them all at the venue it worked out great that we got up early and did their wedding portraits the next morning! We did some around the venue and ventured to the Mines of Spain for some adventure-inspired bridal portraits.
Some unique components to their wedding day were having the groom’s sister/bride’s best friend officiate their marriage, their dogs were with them while they got ready, they had a tree planting unity ceremony with a lemon tree which holds meanings to life and marriage, they also had close friends do readings of their favorite poems during the ceremony!
