10 Des Moines Wedding Venues

If you’re looking for a venue in the metro area, look no further! Here is a list of some of my favorite venues in Des Moines!

1. The Monroe This newly renovated venue is located in West Des Moines. With large windows on all the outer walls and a crisp white interior, this space is so bright and full of natural light! They have a large reception/ceremony space, outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour option, bar, intimate ceremony option, and billiards/cocktail hour room!
2. The Des Moines Heritage Center Is bringing the century-old train depot back to life! The renovated train depot is the guys getting ready area, and in the main center is the girls getting ready. With a beautiful courtyard for ceremony, reception, or cocktail hour, their indoor and outdoor spaces are gorgeous for your east village wedding! The indoor reception space has floor-to-ceiling windows to let in that golden city sunset!
3. The Willow on Grand Is relatively new to the Des Moines area, but is one AMAZING venue to consider when looking to book and secure a wedding date! This cottage-inspired venue takes inspiration from the historic Waterbury neighborhood. This venue is truly a blank canvas when it comes to your wedding day! With a beautiful courtyard for cocktail hour or a wedding ceremony, this venue has major garden party vibes!
4. Bash Events This venue located in downtown Des Moines has a unique floor layout and a max capacity of 300! They offer catering with their packages and the space has a vintage feel of the original building.
5. Hotel Fort Des Moines This venue restored the original building to its former glory! This early 1900’s inspired venue has that classic elegant feel you’re looking for! They have several event spaces to choose from within the space, a grand ballroom, the Wedgewood ballroom for more intimate events, renting either ballrooms give you access to a balcony cocktail space, and they have an elegant courtyard ceremony option with beautiful staircases!
6. Salisbury House and Gardens is an old English-inspired venue! This mansion has many photo ops, rooms and grounds for guests to tour! Your garden wedding is perfect in this space!
7. Surety Hotel is another gorgeous modernized hotel in the downtown area! With both ballroom and greenhouse space for your wedding, you have your choice of setting! Beautiful getting ready spaces, and little nooks around the venue, and locations all downtown will give your wedding that morden look!
8. The Loft DSM is a modern industrial venue with a warm and welcoming feel to it! This space can easily go elegant or casual design-wise! Complete with bistro lighting this venue feels like a warm hug!
9. The Des Moines Botanical Gardens can be for intimate weddings before and after hours indoors, or close off the outdoor grounds for your wedding in front of the waterfall! They have 2 indoor spaces for your reception depending on the size of the event- and the perfect grounds for a tent reception outside!
10. The River Center located conveniently close to the river 😉 is a gorgeous industrial space! With a grand staircase leading to the Mezzanine, your wedding has plenty of space to party! Easy access to downtown, parking and late-night food runs this venue is the perfect modern industrial venue!
