8-Hour Wedding Timeline And Tips

February 20, 2023

The biggest tip for your wedding timeline: πŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌ

Add 10-15 extra minutes to each part of the timeline that has people involved. Things get behind, people take longer than anticipated, someone key to that part of the day goes and finds who we’re needing- things happen. So let’s plan on things going wrong- and if they end up going right, then we have extra time for your big day ❀️

Sample 8 Hour Wedding Timeline:

12:30 Getting ready & detail shots, Second photographer photographs guys getting ready

1:00 Get into dress, and first look with bridesmaids

1:30 First look with dad

2:00 First look with groom / Couples Photos

2:30 Bridal Party Photos

3:00 Family Photos

3:30 Tuck away before Ceremony

4:00 Ceremony

4:30 Ceremony ends, receiving line/Cocktail hour starts

5:30 Dinner

6:30 Speeches & Cake cutting

7:00 First dances- father daughter, mother son, couples first dance

7:20 Dance floor opens

8:00 Sneak out for Couples Photos at sunset

8:30 Photo Done

This is a SAMPLE timeline- all wedding days are different, and have different priorities! If you want more reception photos, you can shift to have more time for that versus getting ready! Whenever we do consultations I always send out some samples of what your day looks like so it’s not a guessing game on how much time you ACTUALLY want and need for your big day! And, you can always add more time to your day as we get closer if you realize you want or need more!
